Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born 2 December 1981 in McComb, Mississippi & raised in Kentwood, Louisiana. Britney was the first dancer of her age and won many competitions in gymnastics. Britney enjoys singing, but most importantly, she enjoyed dancing classes. Britney was a candidate for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) at the age of 8. She was turned down because of her age. Britney was then suggested to the off-Broadway musical "Ruthless" where she played the role of the title character for two years. She attempted to reprise her role for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), this time , as a mouseketeer. Her breakthrough however, came after she was signed as Jive Recording Artists in the latter part of the 90s. The debut album of Britney Spears, "...Baby, was released in 1999. Britney also sold 9 million copies (as as of July 1, 2001) of her follow-up album "Oops !...I Do It Again" which was released May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears. She has one of her brothers Bryan Spears and a little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was destined to be a star from a young age. Britney loved singing and was inspired by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. After having a lot of singing and dancing classes and participating in numerous show and fairs Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) television show (from 1989 to 1994) when she was 8, however, she was too young for the part. Britney and her baby sister, Britney relocated to New York, where she was featured in numerous TV commercials and in an off Broadway production titled "Ruthless" under the guidance of Natalie Portman. The love for dance and music grew and, 2 years after that, she was auditioning for the role on "Mickey Mouse" again, and this time, was selected for the part along with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
