Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is known for his sharp-witted and sly role in action films. Together, they've been featured in films grossing more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of whom were living on an United States military base. The family moved to the U.S. shortly after he was born. He was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother was employed in a bank, while his father was a welding and factory worker. Willis was drawn to drama in high school. While working at the New York City café, his name was "discovered". Then, he began to appear in a variety of off-Broadway shows. In one night, Willis was working as a bartender and was noticed by a casting supervisor who liked his personality. He needed bartenders for an unimportant role in a movie. After countless auditions, Willis was credited with a couple of film appearances which were usually uncredited. He then getting the role of private eye "David Addison" alongside the gorgeous Cybill Shepherd in the smash romantic comedy TV series Moonlighting (1985). His humorous and wisecracking P.I. Some view it as a practice run for Willis' role in Die Hard (1988), where he single-handedly defeated an international gang of thieves who were stealing from the Los Angeles skyscraper. The sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990), Willis reprised his character as McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to get back a corrupt South American general. A sequel, Die Hard with Avengeance (1995), was a huge success. The film starred Samuel L. Jackson as an obnoxious Harlem shopowner who is forced to assist McClane during a terrorist attack that occurred during a hot New York day.
