Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born September 7, 1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage actor writer and director and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actor as well as acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers acted at Theatre In The Park, Raleigh which is where her father serves as the executive director. At the age of five, she was auditioning for the role of Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). In the year 1996, she relocated to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mother. She has appeared in TV shows, feature films, and TV movies ever since. Tracy played her part in Practical Magic (1998) as well as in S1m0ne (2002 the child of Al Pacino). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004). Her role as Tracy in "Thirteen" brought her a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actress in the genre of Motion Picture: Drama and for an Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress of Female Character in the Leading Role. In the year of her SAG nomination she was the youngest actress nominated in the Leading Role category. She earned an Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries or Movie" for her portrayal of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011). The same award was given to her performance as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's estranged daughter) in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III. Younger sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She has been trained in dance. She loves dancing, sing, rollblade, and horseback ride. She is the black belt from tae kwon do. Keeps in touch with a majority of her Once and Again (1999) co-stars: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan, and Shane West.
