Beyoncé Giselle Knowles
Beyonce Giselle Knowles, was born on
September 4 1981 in Houston. Tina Knowles-Lawson, her mother creates their
glittering costumes. Mathew Knowles is Destiny's Child's managing director.
Solange, her sister (4 years apart) has released her first album. She dances
along with her sister at DC-3 shows. Beyonce is from Louisiana Creole and
African descent. Whitney Houston found her and her band. Lovefool by The
Cardigans is one of her favorite songs. She adores a pair of silver path work
boots. She produced and wrote many of the group's hit songs, such as
"Jumpin jumping", "Bootylicious", Nasty Girl","
Independent Women", "Happy Face" as well as "Apple Pie A La
Mode". She is the lead singer for Destiny's Child. Toured with Christina
Aguilera as her opening show (2000). TLC was the opening show (1999). Master P
was a cat. He was a student at the High School for the Performing and Visual
Arts in Houston, Texas. Solange's older half-sister and Nixon and Koi Knowles
big sister. She was once in Star Search (1983). The singer was the first woman
of African descent ever to receive the ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award
in 2001. She is a huge fan of Middle Eastern music, dance and the Middle
Eastern culture. Her biggest hit track is "Crazy in Love", (2003).
The awards shows she has performed on include the Radio Music Awards, MTV
Europe Video Music Awards, and Billboard Awards. She was also a performer at a
South African AIDS benefit event that Bono of U2 was the host in November of
2003 to help fight the AIDS epidemic. On February 8, 2004, she won five Grammy
Awards, including Best Contemporary R&B album for "Dangerously in
Love". She also took home the most awards this year's (2004) performance.
Mathew is her father. The mother of her, Tina, is of Louisiana Creole ancestry
- mainly African and French and has ancestors from Louisiana as well as, prior
to that, Canada. Beyonce is also 1/32 Irish and has distant Breton and Spanish,
Indonesian and Chinese roots. According to reports, she has said that in order
to overcome her shyness she developed an acting persona dubbed
"Sasha".
